The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) in Bangladesh and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organised the finale and award giving ceremony of the ‘HSBC-IBA Business Case Competition 2019’ on Friday.
Three teams from Bangladesh were selected as the Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners from a group of five finalist teams.
A total of 50 teams participated in the wider competition; from twenty-two universities in the country, said a press release received today (Saturday).
The Gold, Silver and Bronze team received team development fund of BDT 100,000; BDT 75,000 and BDT 50,000 respectively.
Shitangshu Kumar Sur Chowdhury, Banking Reform Advisor of Bangladesh Bank was present as the Chief Guest while Francois de Maricourt, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Bangladesh, Muhammad Abdul Momen, Professor, Director in Charge, IBA and Sudipto Mukerjee, Resident Representative (a.i), UNDP Bangladesh spoke at the programme.
The initiative is part of HSBC’s flagship Future Skills activity in Asia Pacific that aims to enhance university students’ business skills and broaden their global perspectives by taking their education out of the classroom and into a live competition format.
