Pearson’s largest qualification brand Edexcel arranged its seventh Academic Award Ceremony on Friday in collaboration with the British Council.
The ceremony was arranged at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka for the students in Bangladesh who achieved outstanding results in their International GCSE (O Level) and A Level examination in 2018.
Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel was present at the programme as the chief guest while British Deputy High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mr Kanbar Hossein-Bor was present as special guest.
A total of 37 awardees achieved the world highest marks in different subjects. There were 572 International GCSE and 80 International A Level awardees.
Deputy Director of British Council in Bangladesh Andrew Newton, International Portfolio Manager of Pearson Mr. Ben Greshon, Vice President of Pearson Schools and Qualifications in South Asia Mr Harish Doraiswamy, Pearson's Country Manager for Bangladesh Mr. Saidur Rahman, Director Examinations of British Council in Bangladesh Mr Sebastian Pearce, Regional Development Manager of Pearson Mr Abdullah Al Mamun Liton were also present at the ceremony.
The deputy state minister urged the students to accept the outstanding education policies of Bangladesh government to ensure their educational achievements up to the mark.
