DU holds int'l conference on business in Dhaka for youths

An international conference on business and economics in the city was held at University of Dhaka on October 30 and 31.

The two-day conference titled "Interdisciplinary Solutions for Business Challenges in a New Global Order” was organised by the Faculty of Business Studies at Nabab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building.  

The objective of the conference was to bring academics and professionals in a common forum for developing strategies to meet the challenges of global business.

The conference was also expected to enlighten the youths with proper understanding of global economy.

Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor Dr. Md. Aktaruzzaman inaugurated the Conference, says a release.

The conference also integrated different disciples with business such as mathematics with business, science with business and statics with business etc.

Professor Partha S Ghosh, Tufts University, USA, Professor Scott Browman, Vice-Chancellor and President, Central Queensland University, Australia, Professor John L Lahey, President of Quinnipiac University, Connecticut, USA, were key-note speakers at the inaugural ceremony.

The conference was chaired by Prof Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Dean Faculty of Business Studies while was co-chaired by Professor Dr M Sadiqul Islam, Department of Finance.

A total of 77 papers had been submitted in the conference and all accepted papers had been published in the conference proceedings.

Three outstanding papers got awarded by the conference committee. The award included a certificate and cash prize.

The conference is held every year with a different theme.
