A total of 525 first-year honours students of Dhaka University received Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) Scholarship on Saturday.
The recipients of the scholarships are students of various disciplines enrolled in the academic year 2016-17, as per a report on UNB.
Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury handed over the scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a programme held at Teacher- Student Centre (TSC) auditorium.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Akhtaruzzaman, Bangladesh Bank Deputy Director SK Sur Chowdhury were present on the occasion as special guests with DUAA President AK Azad in the chair.
Under the scholarship, each student will get Tk 2,500 per month for the four academic years.
