Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be conferred an honorary Doctor of Laws (posthumous) degree at a special convocation of Dhaka University (DU) to be held on September 05, 2020 (Saturday).
This decision was taken at a meeting on the occasion of Mujib Year-2020, chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, said a press release.
Nobel prize winner economist Abhijit Banerjee will be the convocation speaker, the release mentioned.
DU Pro-VC (Academic) Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Treasurer Dr Kamal Uddin, DU Teachers' Association (DUTA) General Secretary Dr Nizamul Houqe Bhuiyan, Proctor Dr AKM Golam Rabbani and Registrar Md Enamuzzaman, among others, were present at the meeting held on Thursday.
