The government is to set up a 15-starey building for the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) at Mirpur in Dhaka.
Primary and Mass Education Minister Advocate Mostafizur Rahman laid the foundation stone of the building on Sunday, reports BSS.
The building will be constructed in two phases.
In the first phase two floors will be constructed with two basements with the capacity of parking 44 vehicles.
Cost of the first phase will be Tk 306.7 million, said an official release.
The building will have all the modern facilities including multiple lift, modern conference room, modern office rooms, separates toilets for male, female and disabled persons, car parking and underground water reservoir.
Director General of Directorate of Primary Education Dr Md Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal presided over the function. High officials of the ministry were present on the occasion.
