The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) brought out a victory procession on the campus on Sunday, marking the centenary celebration of the university and the golden jubilee of the country's independence.
The procession led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman started from Aparajeyo Bangla at 10:00 am and ended at the Central Shaheed Minar.
Pro-VC (Academic) Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, senate and syndicate members, registrar, deans, provosts, directors and chairmen of different institutes and departments, proctors, leaders of various organizations, officers and employees of the university took part in the procession.
While addressing the rally, VC Akhtaruzzaman expressed his determination to reshape the university in future to fulfil the expectations of the country through basic research and innovations.
A discussion meeting was also held at the central playground of the university.
