‘Bangabandhu Corner’ was formally launched at all educational institutions simultaneously in Rajshahi district on Saturday.
The objective is to highlight an in depth idea about the life, works and sacrifice of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the new generation.
The corner is enriched with Bangabandhu’s portrait, historic speech of 7th March, photographs taken during his lifetime and more than 200 books on life and works of Bangabandhu.
The 1980 institutions including 1055 primary schools opened the corner.
To mark the occasion, the district administration organised a launching ceremony at Government Girls High School in the city.
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and additional commissioner of Rajshahi division Aminul Islam attended the function as chief and special guests respectively with Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Nazrul Islam, deputy director of Department of Secondary and Higher Education Towhid Ara, District Education Officer Laily Banu and headmaster of the school Begum Isha Bela were present on the occasion, BSS reported.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Liton urged the students to take interest in the life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman so that they get inspired and inspire others.
The great man along with an army of self-made fighters fought and brought independence of the country. The Bangalee nation embraced him as their closest one.
The mayor urged the new generation to follow the ideals of the hero and to be patriotic.
