The overall number of global Covid-19 cases has now crossed 630 million.
According to the latest global data, the total case count mounted to 630,310,204 while the death toll from the virus reached 6,572,790 on Tuesday morning, reports UNB.
The US has recorded 98,877,887 cases so far, while 1,090,802 people have died from the virus in the country, both highest counts around the world.
According to Indian federal health ministry data released on Monday morning, 1,116 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in 24 hours, taking the total tally to 44,632,004 in the country.
The country also logged 10 related deaths in 24 hours, pushing the overall toll to 528,905 since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.
Covid in Bangladesh
Bangladesh reported another Covid-19-linked death and 389 fresh cases in 24 hours till Monday morning.
The country's total fatalities rose to 29,402 with the new deaths and the new cases raised the country's total caseload to 2,032,832, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily case test positivity rate rose to 6.92 per cent from Sunday’s 5.86 per cent as 5,622 samples were tested during the period.
The latest deceased was a man from Dhaka division.
The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.45 per cent and the recovery rate rose to 97.15 per cent.
