Munich underground knife attack injures several

Several people are injured following a knife attack at an underground station in Munich, says a report on Metro UK.

The attacker is on the run after stabbing multiple people at the Rosenheimer station in the German city’s central square, add a report on the tabloid.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening. Police launched a manhunt following the incident on Saturday morning.

They announced that a man had been arrested about two hours later, adding that it is ‘unclear whether it is the culprit’.

At this stage, any possible motive for the attack is unclear, police added.

They had described the man as about 40, wearing a green jacket and grey trousers, with a black bike, and carrying a backpack and a sleeping mat.

Writing on Twitter, Munich Police said: ‘We are searching for the perpetrator of the attack with all available police.’

The force added: ‘There is no helpful speculation floating around. We will report further, once we have secured information.’

Officers also urged locals to remain in their homes until the suspect is detained.
