At least 10 people have been killed and six others injured Monday morning after a goods laden truck collided head-on with a tractor carrying people in northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Five people died on spot, while five others succumbed on their way to hospital.
Six people injured in the accident are undergoing treatment, out of which, the condition of few is stated to be critical, reports Xinhua news agency.
The victims travelling in tractor were returning after paying obeisance at a local temple in Mirzapur district, according to Police.
The impact of collision according to locals was massive.
Reports said the poor visibility because of the morning fog could be the reason behind the deadly collision.
A probe has been ordered into the accident.
