A strong quake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck 111 km South West of Porgera, Papua New Guinea at 02:45:44 GMT on Wednesday, said the US Geological Survey.
The epicentre, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 6.1716 degrees south latitude and 142.4749 degrees east longitude, reports Xinhua citing the USGS.
