The Jordan Armed Forces on Thursday killed 27 infiltrators while trying to smuggle large amounts of narcotics from Syria into the country.
A source at the army told the state-run Petra news agency that the military would apply "full force" to thwart any infiltration or smuggling attempts, protecting the kingdom's borders, citizens and national security, reports Xinhua.
In mid-January, a Jordanian military officer was killed and three other soldiers were injured in an exchange of fire with smugglers at borders with Syria.
