A devastating fire inside a crockery-manufacturing factory in Indian capital city of New Delhi left at least two people dead on Monday night, said officials on Tuesday.
“The fire broke out in the factory at Uttam Nagar at around 11:00 pm (local time) and soon engulfed the entire building,” a police official said.
“Firefighters along with five fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately to contain the blaze, which was brought under control after several hours. Unfortunately two people, who were working as workers in the factory, were killed in the fire.”
The workers were sleeping inside the building when the fire broke out, Xinhua reported quoting the officials.
Police said the cause of fire and extent of damage was being ascertained.
