At least five people were killed and over 30 others injured after a bomb went off near a procession of Shia Muslims in Pakistan's eastern Bahawalnagar district of Punjab province on Thursday, police said.
Police sources in the area said that women and children are among the injured in the blast that occurred near Jail road area of the district, adding that the death toll might further rise as several injured are in critical condition, reports Xinhua.
Rescue teams, police and security forces reached the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.
