China Life Insurance Co, a leading insurer in the country, saw steady growth in its premium income in the first seven months, company data showed Thursday.
Premium income in the period totalled 405.1 billion yuan (about 58 billion US dollars), up 5.1 per cent year on year, according to unaudited figures released by the insurer.
Chinese insurers have seen strong premium growth in recent months after authorities tightened regulations last year to fend off financial risks in the world's second biggest insurance market.
The country's top five A-share listed insurance companies posted combined premium income of 1.4 trillion yuan in the first half, up 7.6 per cent year on year.
