National Meteorological Center (NMC) of China has issued a yellow alert as fog lingered in southern and central China.
The national observatory said on Saturday that heavy fog will affect parts of Anhui, Fujian, Henan, Sichuan, Hubei, and Jiangxi provinces.
In some areas of Henan, Hubei, Anhui, and Sichuan, visibility will be reduced to less than 200 meters, according to the NMC.
The center said drivers should slow down to safe speeds, while airports, freeways, and ports should take appropriate safety measures, reports Xinhua.
China has a four-tier color-coded warning system for severe weather, with red being the most serious, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
