At least 11 Islamic States (IS) militants have been killed during air strikes by Afghan security forces in Nargosi and Khamon areas of Achin district in Nangarhar province, the provincial governor's spokesman said Wednesday.
During the strikes, two hideouts of IS militants were also completely destroyed on Tuesday, spokesman Ataullah Khogiani said.
A Xinhua news agency report says that Achin district is the stronghold of IS militants.
Hundreds of armed fighters including several local commanders have been killed by Afghan and international forces in the past several months.
