An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck Japan’s Nagano prefecture on Saturday morning, said Japan Meteorological Agency.
The quake that hit the region at 10:29am local time (0129 GMT), was centred in the northern part of Nagano prefecture in central Japan, with the epicentre at a latitude of 36.6 degrees north and a longitude of 137.9 degrees east and at a depth of 10 km.
Xinhua reported citing the Meteorological Agency that the earthquake logged lower 5 in some parts of Nagano prefecture on the Japanese seismic intensity scale which peaks at 7.
However, there were no reports of damages or injuries and no tsunami warning was issued.
