10 people have been killed and 17 others wounded when two speeding buses coming from the rear side collided and crashed into a van on a highway in central Pakistan, police say.
Local police Chief Arfan Buhadar says the accident occurred on early Sunday near the town of Jam Shoro, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of the city of Multan.
Some of the injured are in critical condition, reports the Associated Press quoting the police official.
The drivers of the two buses managed to flee the scene shortly after the accident, Buhadar added.
An initial investigation shows careless driving was behind the crash.
