The Libyan Red Crescent on Monday recovered 10 unidentified bodies in the eastern Libyan city of Darna, where the army is fighting the remaining terrorists holed up in the city centre.

"The recovery of the unidentified bodies continues, as Red Crescent team recovered 10 unidentified bodies from the old town (central Darna)," the Red Crescent Society said in a statement.

The Red Crescent team was notified by local authorities in the area about the bodies, which were handed over to the competent authorities to take necessary procedures, the statement said.

So far this month, a total of 20 unidentified bodies have been recovered in Darna, reports Xinhua.

The army, led by General Khalifa Haftar, is still fighting remnants of terrorists in central Darna which the army took over in June 2018 after besieging it for some three years.

The army is allied with the eastern-based House of Representatives, which competes with the internationally recognised Government of National Accord in western Libya for control of the country.
