ACCORDING to a recent survey, 82 per cent of our children aged between one and fourteen in urban areas are abused physically or mentally. Though in recent years Bangladesh has developed in various sectors, the position of children still remains the same. They continue to be subjected to physical and mental abuse. As the children are physically weak and can not resist, they are the victims of torture, persecution, exploitation, and sexual harassment. So, the offenders must be punished under the 2013 Children Act.
And the government should come forward and ensure enforcement of the provisions of the Act to save the children from being abused and ensure them a better life.
