SHAHJALAL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT at Dhaka lacks many facilities befitting an international airport. The interior is unclean and ill maintained. Lighting is inadequate. Standard of service is disappointing and unless improved shortly, it will continue to present a wrong image of the country to the foreigners visiting Bangladesh. As it is the main international airport of the country, it is the point of entry of the foreigners visiting either on vacation or business. The officials and workers at the airport should be well groomed and well-mannered like we find in other international airports. The interior decoration of the airport is close to being obsolete and needs to be improved quickly. The state of cleanliness of the airport is very poor and sadly Dhaka airport at present ranks very low among international airports of the world.
To be precise, Dhaka airport needs a thorough facelift so that it is at a par with other international airports. I hope the government will soon look into it and take immediate steps to make the airport clean, neat and beautiful.
