Against the backdrop of the mounting challenges for the commuters to move from one place to another, Uber has appeared as an unmixed blessing. Uber, providing an online-based platform has hit the roads of Dhaka recently.
It will help resolve the worsening transport situation in the city and provide an online-based taxi service allowing customers to submit a trip request with Smartphones. The application programme then automatically sends the request to the driver nearest to the commuter and alerting the driver to reach the location of the customer quickly. Anybody with a private car can join the service.
Uber was launched with a concept based on apps service by providing a platform for car owners and commuters for travel around the city with different fare modules. Fare also depends on the peak and off-peak hours of the day. Passengers can locate a misbehaving driver and in the same way a driver can rate an errant passenger. Uber is making very lucrative discount offers for its users which really help connect different sections of people.
The last thing that comes to mind is about the reasonability of costs. It is a small amount compared to the comfort and convenience that is provided anywhere at any time of day, month or year. Considering the urgent and fast pace of modern life Uber has come as a blessing for commuters at large.
