AS a girder of the Malibagh-Mouchak flyover was being carried by a crane, it fell on a passer-by who died a tragic death. Any unnatural death causes agony among the people and death from an accident that was the result of somebody's negligence and could have been avoided, is a grievous crime. Issues of safety and security of people are mostly ignored in our society for which we have to pay dearly. As responsible citizens of the country, we demand that safety measures should be strictly maintained, so that such accidents do not recur. In the construction sites, we see safety regulations being violated randomly. It is high time we stopped neglecting safety issues and made conditions safer for everyone.
