Tofael Ahmed, Minister of Trade and Commerce informed parliament on Wednesday that Bangladesh has a trade deficit of US$4763.28 millions with India alone. We have trade deficit with Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and even Afghanistan except Nepal. People of Bangladesh are intelligent, hard working, patient and innovative and it should not be difficult to reduce the trade gap with other countries, let alone SAARC countries.
We urge upon the government to produce gadgets like mobile phone, laptop etc. and export those in order to earn valuable foreign currency.
