WHILE it is heartening to note that the country is now enjoying demographic dividend, the government is yet to capitalize on it. Not only that, the concerned authorities are not paying special attention in this regard as a result of which the nation is being deprived of demographic dividend to a great extent. The country could have been further benefited in terms of sustainable development if we had taken proper care of the big potential that we have. This pyramid of unutilized potentialities could play a pivotal role in taking the country ahead to the desirable level of sustainable development with financial inclusion and balanced growth. Needless to say, demographic dividend could have made higher contribution to bolster our chances of economic growth had the government utilised it properly with necessary employment generation.
Be that as it may, we hope that the government would take necessary measures to pave the way for making the best use of the immense potential so that whole nation can taste the fruits of demographic dividend. Last but not least, as responsible guardians of the country it is incumbent upon the government to create a congenial climate so that we are able to capitalise on the demographic dividend and state-of-the-art innovations to take the country to new height of development.
