SOUND sleep is a precondition for sound health. Every healthy adult human being should have 6 to 8 hours sleep everyday. Recent research has found that more sleep is associated with increased patience, optimism, focus and more.
A longitudinal study with over 1,400 respondents found meaningful correlations between sound sleep and several qualitative lifestyle metrics. The respondents with sound sleep during the previous night were more likely to report feeling energetic, rested, productive, attractive, focused and optimistic on the following day.
We often neglect our sleep and deprive ourselves for the sake of work or pleasure which is not wise. Sleep plays a vital role in keeping us hale and hearty and protects our mental and physical fitness. The damage from chronic sleep deprivation can be fatal. Our immune system depends heavily on good sleep to stay healthy, so we should not ignore it. Sleeping early is one way to have sound sleep and we should go to bed early so that we can have enough sleep. It is high time we realized the value of sound sleep and made it a routine job in our day to day life.
