The launching ceremony of a book titled "Amader Khankhanapur" was held at Khankhanapur Suraj Mohini Institute (School & College) in Rajbari recently.
Presided over by Khankhanapur Union Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Rezaul Karim, the ceremony was attended by Kazi Keramat Ali MP, Rajbari-1, as the Chief Guest, former Govt Rajendra College Vice Principal Prof. Sheikh Abdus Samad, former MP Munshi Abdul Latif, former District Judge Shamsul Haque as Special Guests.
At the outset, Mr. Asaduzzaman Khan, writer of the book and also a former executive director of Bangladesh Bank, presented his inaugural speech. The 347 page book contains 7 chapters where the first 5 chapters contain history, tradition, culture and heritage of Khankhanapur while the last two chapters include memoirs and brief life-sketches of the enlightened people associated with Khankhanapur Union.
Among those participating in the three-hour discussion were former Suraj Mohini Institute Headmaster Siraj Uddin Biswas, incumbent Headmaster Munshi Abdul Jabbar, Former Assistant Headmaster Ismail Khan, Educationist Dr. Anisur Rahman Jamil, PKSF DGM (BCS 29th Batch) Dr. Mahfuzul Islam Shamim, Former Khankhanapur Union Council Chairman AKM Iqbal Hossain, Union Awami League President Amir Ali Molla, Supreme Court Advocate Nurul Islam, politician Advocate Aslam Miah, former BADC Chief Engineer freedom fighter Akhter Hossain Khan, freedom fighter Abu Bakkar and Dewan Abu Sayeed.
The ceremony was conducted by Supreme Court lawyer Momin Sheikh. More than 300 distinguished local guests including VIPs of Khankhanapur working in different sectors of the country, attended the event.
