BASHUNDHARA Residential Area is fast becoming a highly populated area with increasing number of people and families. There are many schools, universities, hospitals, shopping malls and numerous offices in and around the area. Lot of service holders, both male and female, live here. All these office-goers have to go to different areas of the city in connection with their jobs. They have to do a lot of criss-cross everyday. There is a huge rush of people in the morning as students go for schools, colleges and universities and service-holders have to rush for their offices. Incoming vehicles carrying students and job holders have to wait in a queue to get an entry into Bashundhara. To make matters worse, there is no signal, no humps, no traffic Police, and eventually vehicles seeking entry into the area are made to slow down at the gate of Bashundhara R/A gate and thus a traffic gridlock is created quite often.
I urge the authorities concerned to arrange installation of a Meaningful HUMP and an auto signal for safety of the people using the area at the entry and exit gates. Otherwise, the way things are progressing, possibility of accident can not be ignored. The Mayor of the Dhaka North City Corporation is specially requested to consider my request.
