Reducing the length of Hajj flights

Reducing the length of Hajj flights

PERFORMING Hajj is mandatory for financially and physically able Muslim adults. It is one of the five pillars of Islam. During the recent years more than hundred thousand men and women have been performing Hajj every year from Bangladesh. Eight days are required to complete the rituals of Hajj including the flight days from Dhaka to Jeddah to Dhaka. A gap of 40 to 45 days is needed for flights of performing Hajis from Bangladesh. VVIPs of course are not required to wait such long after performing Hajj. The gap of 40-45 days involves additional cost and time for the Hajis. It happens because of a fewer number of daily flights from Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia and vice versa. Fewer days are required to perform Hajj for Hajis from Europe and USA.
This problem needs to be addressed by the authorities concerned. Bangladesh Biman (BB) and Saudia Airlines carry most of the Hajj performers from Bangladesh and to cope with a large number of Hajj performers BB also hires aircraft. If the number of aircraft hired by Biman is increased, the period for performing Hajj can be significantly reduced. It would be better if the time gap for performing Hajj is reduced to 20 days at the most. I would like to request the concerned authorities to please hire more aircraft during Hajj to enable the Hajis to return home soon after performing Hajj.
