THE border town of Benapole under Jessore district is an important route for communications between Bangladesh and India. It is a land port that houses customs and immigration offices apart from other offices of the Bangladesh government.
A large number of people, including families of government officials, live in Benapole besides a sizeable number of students and people working in various private enterprises. Sadly, there is no recreation centres like parks and playgrounds there where people can breathe fresh air and spend leisure time with comfort.
I would therefore call upon the concerned authorities to look into the matter and provide recreation centres and expand the existing sporting facilities at Benapole.
