THE flyover work near Mouchak market has been going on at a snail's pace compounding the problems for the commuters.
The portion of the road from Malibagh rail crossing to Rajarbagh and Shantinagar is in an extremely bad shape. I used to negotiate the road frequently, but now I dread to step on it. We cannot say that the road is broken, because the situation is worse than that. People living in nearby areas are leading a miserable life. Many people have already left the place. The traffic gridlock of this place creates a chain reaction on neighbouring roads of Dhaka city.
I think the authority should keep the road in a tolerable condition and allow people to commute peacefully. The traders of Mouchak market area expressed their extreme frustration on a number of occasions as customers do not want to come near the market due to the pitiable condition of the road and perennial traffic jam. I hope the authority will appreciate the pain of the commuters and repair the road immediately.
