Most people love ice cream and a festive meal is incomplete without a scoop of it. Who would refuse a treat of cool and delicious ice cream in a hot and sweltering summer? Surely, both the young and the old would love to relish ice cream in this summer. High summertime sales of ice cream are very likely. However, the ice cream industry is often perverted by unscrupulous people mixing toxic ingredients such as textile dyes and other harmful chemicals just to make ice creams look more enticing and appealing to the unsuspecting consumers.
According to recent media reports, mobile courts frequently bust spurious ice cream factories and thousands of illegal ice cream factories are being operated by shabby individuals in Dhaka without any licence or safety measures. Since children are considered the primary consumers of these adulterated ice creams, a strong drive to punish the miscreants should be conducted by the law enforcers in Dhaka and elsewhere so that innocent children can be saved. Adulterated ice cream has adverse health effects with diseases like diarrhoea, cholera, and dysentery. The government must act promptly to stop such practices and put the offenders behind bars in order to stop such grave offence.
