A front page write-up on a rickshaw puller Samad Sheik of Faridpur, published in a local English daily on February 18 was indeed a fine story. This simple and poor rickshaw-puller deserves all our help to enable him to carry out his worthy and very useful hobby of spreading greenery by planting trees. Here is a man, sincerely dedicated to a wonderful and very worthwhile pursuit of planting useful and fruit bearing trees in his locality. Though a rickshaw-puller by profession his desire and endeavour is indeed noble and inspiring.
This writer feels that such a worthy man deserves to be helped by many of our fellow readers who may be inspired by his enterprise to spread greenery in and around the area where he lives and works. It also rightly deserves national attention and recognition. I wonder if our Honourable Prime Minister awards him with national recognition and also provide him with some monetary help in recognition of his noble objective of planting trees.
The newspaper carrying the write-up can also organise to set up a fund and request their readers to donate in recognition to his noble and selfless deed of spreading greenery in his locality. I am sure many benevolent readers will help such a poor man in his noble venture and also give him some monetary reward in recognition of his selfless service to humanity.
