THE Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) will begin from January 1, 2017 and it is a much anticipated annual event. This month-long fair is expected to be inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister. All companies offer big discounts on this occasion to promote their products and hence it is a great opportunity for many to collect various items at the fair. Many people wait for the fair so that they can buy their home appliances. Many local and foreign companies open their stalls in DITF and it is the best place to draw the attention of the consumers. The DITF is a big attraction not only for the city dwellers but also for many people coming from outside Dhaka. Many foreigners are also seen also visiting the fair and enjoying it. In the last DITF 2016, we received the export orders worth US$30 million and total sales proceeds of DITF 2016 was Tk.1.2 billion. DITF is playing an important role to popularise our products along side introducing some important foreign products to our market. It gives us an opportunity to showcase our products and services to the people at home and aboard. I hope this year the DITF fair will be more successful and rewarding.
