WE witness a mosquito menace after sunset as evening arrives and it seems that there is no one to see it. Two city corporations seem to have failed to discharge their duties properly and save the citizens' habitats from blistering attack of mosquitoes. After dark, the city is gripped by none other than this little creature and we have no choice but to bear with their relentless attacks.
A few days ago, after having my dinner I thought I would take a walk but soon I decided against it as the road was full of mosquitoes. Dhaka City Corporation was split into two to provide improved civic facilities for the people. But we are yet to see any noticeable change in this direction. Many people cannot tolerate smell of mosquito coils, and the common people cannot afford other mosquito repellents are expensive. A mosquito bite can be fatal as mosquitoes are carriers of many deadly diseases. The city corporations should immediately take an action plan to drive away mosquitoes and create awareness about its deadly effects. Summer has just begun and we need to be very careful so that we can stay safe from mosquito borne diseases and keep our near and dear ones safe.
