IT is indeed alarming to note that the number of jobless people in our country is increasing every year and it is bad for its stability and progress. We need to create more job opportunities for the young people, who after completing their education, enter the job market every year. We should not solely depend on the existing sectors for employment generation, but explore the possibilities of other sectors as well.
At the same time, we must emphasise on technical and vocational education in the country as things are becoming increasingly difficult for conventional education to create enough job opportunities. The existing academic curriculum needs to be changed to suit the requirements of the changing world. Already there is a high demand of skilled people in countries abroad and accordingly we should encourage our youths to go for technical education to change their lives.
If the young generation can be motivated towards technical education, it will be easier for them to be employed anywhere in the world. If we look back, year 2016 was a peaceful year without any political unrest. But not many new jobs were created in the year and more people were risking their lives by taking illegal and dangerous journeys to go abroad in search of employment. The government must look into it as unemployment has direct links with the peace, stability, and prosperity of a country. The government should also make the country more business friendly and reduce corruption so that the economy gets a desired boost and generate sufficient employment.
