The International Anti-corruption Day

ON December 10, every year the world observes the International Anti-corruption Day. Corruption has become a part of our society and when we see any honest person in a government office, we are normally surprised. It is true that rampant corruption exists in society. Corruption is so deep-rooted and well spread that we cannot completely eradicate it. The corruption graph is climbing high and every year we remain at the top of the most corrupt nations which is tarnishing our image in the eye of international community and shoo away the potential local and foreign investors.
Corruption is a serious crime that undermines economic and social development in any country. We need to ensure transparency and accountability in our society which is almost non-existent in our society. We are losing investment which is ten times higher than official assistance. It is therefore essential that we waged a coordinated war against corruption so that we ensured peace, security and a corruption free society. We must not let the handful of corrupt people eat away our progress and prosperity. Let us be vocal against corruption and say 'no' to bribery and use social media as a weapon to fight burgeoning corruption.
