Selection for Test matches

BANGLADESH had achieved remarkable success in one-day cricket. It now has an enviable record of beating almost every cricketing side in that form. In fact, limited-over cricket has given us numerous occasions to rejoice and feel proud of. But the scenario in Test cricket is totally different from ODI. We have not been able to achieve comparable feats in Test cricket.
Among other things, playing only a few Tests and lacking in cricket infrastructure are some of the major reasons for our drawback in Test performance. Recently, Bangladesh announced 14 men Test squad with four uncapped players. Will they be able to prove their worth in Tests? I think the tested players should be given the opportunity to play Tests as far as possible and the selectors should be more prudent, discreet and far-sighted in selecting a squad with best available players in the country.
