RENEWABLE energy sources do not cause carbon emissions. The world is now tending towards renewable energies like solar energy, wind energy, bio-energy, hydropower and ocean energy in its efforts to protect energy sources. The production of coal-based electricity is one of the causes of environmental pollution. Dhaka is second in terms of air pollution. Electricity production from renewable fuel in Bangladesh is negligible. Meanwhile many countries of the world are avoiding or trying to come out of coal technology. China has been using renewable energy from 2013 due to rising demand of electricity. The use of renewal energy is also increasing in India. Most importantly a huge amount of investment is required for purchasing coal, furnace oil and diesel. Besides, prices of these raw materials also fluctuate frequently. On the other hand, solar energy, wind, water can be used at no or low cost. In course of time, oil, gas and coal will be exhausted. In Bangladesh, there is no scarcity of raw material for renewable energy. Cow dung, faeces of poultry, excreta of goat, sweepings of trees, creepers and herbs, water plants and moss etc., are the raw materials which are aplenty in Bangladesh. After production of energy, the bi-products that are manures can be used for crop production. Technology of renewable energy can contribute to transformation of green energy for the rural people of Bangladesh.
