Regarding the letter under caption \"On Bangalink\"

I went through the letter published under caption "On Bangalink" in your esteemed daily in 'Letter to the Editor' column on 11.12.2016 where the writer, Mr. Rajaul Karim Bakhshi narrated his bitter experience about "auto renewal' problem. The practice is common and the writer has elaborately written about his dilemma. I thank him for bringing such an issue to the fore whereas the common people either suffer silently or do not feel like chasing a wrong horse. I also had similar experience with my GrameenPhone number. I think this is where the BTRC should intervene as the problem is quite well spread and put restriction on auto renewal system. The mobile phone operators are actually cheating the gullible people and very few people notice it. often when we touch a link in the internet accidentally some "service" is activated automatically and instantly the subscribers are being charged Tk.2 to Tk.10 and such ghost billing has been continuing for years at regular intervals. We notice a lack of discipline in the mobile phone sector as a result of which the subscribers are suffering. I hope BTRC will take appropriate action and stop auto renewal system and if a subscriber wants a service to be installed, he or she will have to send requisition for the same through SMS.
