A news item that Imam Sheikh, a van Driver, has been awarded a job in the Air Force has made me really happy. Recently, Sheikh Hasina and her family members rode on Imam's van to move around the roads of Tungipara. The Prime Minister donated Tk forty thousand for the treatment of Imam's father. Undoubtedly, these are noble jobs, but there are countless others across the country like Imam who are unemployed and looking for something to do.Â
One of them I know is Uzzal. He completed his Masters from a reputed public university around three years ago. He is still unemployed and running a miserable life. He is the eldest son of the family. He has two brothers both of whom are studying in the same pubic university which is located in a remote area. All of them are meritorious students. Their father had died when they were too young and they had to sell land or other properties to survive. Their mother is seriously sick and they don't have enough money for her treatment. None of the boys is able to earn enough through their only means of earning -- private tutoring. On the other hand, their elder brother cannot support them either as he has a few private tuitions in Dhaka where living cost is exorbitant. He can not even apply for suitable positions advertised in the daily newspapers. There are many Uzzals and Imams in our society who are jobless and looking for something to do. Â
I earnestly request the PM and concerned authorities to look into their problems and do something for these 'have nots'.Â

One lucky Imam and many Uzzals in our society!
