THANKS to The Financial Express for publishing a letter titled 'No Textbook in the NCTB website' on January 10, 2017. And now almost all NCTB textbooks and teachers guides are available on NCTB website.
But then maths textbook for grade one is not still available. NCTB published teachers' guide for pre-primary students which is not in its website yet. There are some other materials like flash cards, domino cards, number cards, letter cards etc. along with story books which are not also in the website.Â
We think there should be some supplementary story books in Bangla and English which will help students build up their character, moral values and patriotism and these should be in the website.
Furthermore, English version textbooks should also be there. Most importantly, there are some inconsistencies in spelling of newly published dictionary from Bangla Academy edited by Jamilur Reza Choudhury. For example, spelling of good (fvj) and twelve (evâ¡iv) have been included but words like small (â¡Qvâ¡Uv) , big  (eâ¡ov) , fourteen  (â¡Pvâ¡Ãv) etc. have not been included.Â
I believe, there should be some basic rules for spelling some new Bangla words. There is no Bangla for FAQ (frequently asked questions) and some other word problems. People can genuinely ask why these words have been omitted in the NCTB website. The concerned persons of NCTB or Bangla Academy are expected to give a reply. We also found same words (like AviI Ges Avâ¡iv) are differently spelt in the textbook and the print media. Obviously, there are some mistakes (e.g., wec`¾bK, which should be wec`¾bK in pre-primary student book page 106, grade three Bangla textbook page 94 like ¸Ye which should be ¸Ye etc.) These mistakes must be avoided.Â
