A deadly fire broke out at Grenfell Tower London a few days ago where at least 79 people are either dead or missing. As the fire that tore through the 24-story Grenfell Tower, death toll may rise, as told by the police. The British prime minister has ordered a probe into the fire that engulfed the entire building. The incident could have been fatal and more damaging if the Muslim residents did not wake up for their Ramadan pre-dawn meals and spotted the fire earlier.Â
The Grenfell Tower fire occurred on  June 14, 2017 and the Metropolitan Police Service says that 79 people are missing and presumed dead, while a further five dead persons have been formally identified, bringing the presumed total number of deaths to 79. It is the deadliest fire in the United Kingdom since at least 1900.
Residents of surrounding buildings were evacuated due to concerns that the tower could collapse, though the building was later determined to be structurally sound. The cause of the fire is not known. The speed at which the fire spread is believed to have been aided by the building's recently added exterior cladding.
We have come to know from the media that a Bangladeshi family of five members has been missing since the fire broke out and it is feared that they may have lost their lives in the fire. Safety rules in the events of fire are either ignored or neglected in our country. Experts are of the opinion that a water sprinkler system in buildings is an effective tool to fight emergency fire which was not unfortunately installed in the tower. Prime Minister Theresa May, who had faced criticism over her handling of the tragedy, announced a £5.0 million fund for victims of the fire. We hope people injured in the incident will soon recover and come back to normal life.Â
