Learning a foreign language is rewarding

STUDIES have found that learning one or two foreign languages improves our cognitive process. The brain of a multilingual/bilingual speaker works in a different way than one who speaks only one language. When we learn a foreign language, it boosts the capacity of our brain. It also develops our ability of multitasking. It delays the possibility of diseases like dementia and Alzheimer. The more the brain is used, the better it functions. So, learning a foreign language sharpens our mind and strengthens our memory. That is why, we should encourage our children to learn another foreign language apart from English. It may be Chinese, French, Spanish, Hindi or Japanese. Nowadays, it is easy to learn a foreign language with the help of computer, the internet and various kinds of applications. We do not even need to be enrolled for language classes. There are a lot of websites which help us learn the language we want to speak. Learning and speaking multiple languages will help us to open more doors of opportunity and we get to know more about other cultures. It is a big plus point in our career. If we devote one hour every day, we can learn a foreign language within a year. Learning a new language will surely boost our confidence level and it will be a rewarding experience for us.
