HATIRJHEEL offers a break from the monotony of city life. It is indeed a nice and cosy place where one can unwind oneself. With so many food shops around it is also an ideal place for the city dwellers to refresh themselves while enjoying scenic beauty. It is spacious, airy and traffic jam free. We see many people taking a stroll around with their near and dear ones. As part of the Hatirjheel Development Plan, the 'water taxis' will soon connect areas from the FDC in Karwan Bazar to Badda Link Road and Rampura Bridge. Fares will range between Tk.25 to Tk.30.
In the next phase, the service will be extended to Gulshan and Baridhara.
I would request everybody I know to visit Hatijheel whenever they get an opportunity to do so. Although there are some works yet to be done, Hatirjheel presents a piece of small beautiful world. Surely the project of Hatirjheel has enhanced the beauty of our crowded city. But often young people with motorcycles are seen racing around the place with great speed. This should be stopped. I hope the law enforcers will keep a vigil so that people visiting the place are not unduly harassed by muggers or criminals. Surely the Hatirjheel project has added glamour to our beloved city and the government should develop many other areas of Dhaka city in the same way.Â
