Diabetes: A global health

THE number of diabetic patients is increasing alarmingly in our country, and surprisingly the young people and children are falling prey to this deadly disease. Lethargic urban lifestyle has often been the cause of diabetes. Therefore the foremost requirement is to have a healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet.  What we are eating is as important as how we are spending the day.  When we are used to lethargic urban lifestyle without any physical workouts, diabetes makes its way into our system and we often become diabetic.  Around nine million people suffer from this disease in this country and I think the actual number will be higher as many patients do not even know that they have this problem. Diabetes was the cause of around five million deaths all over the world in 2014. One out of 11 people is suffering from this disease in the world, according to a recent study. Diabetes is a global problem. I hope, medical science will soon find a permanent cure for this disease and the world will be relieved of this curse and everyone will be able to lead a happy life.
