Cheating in the name of help

IT was on July 9, 2016. I was returning to my work place by an intercity train. On reaching Parbatipur station, a man of about 30 to 35 years of age came to me and asked for Tk 20.00 as help. The man appeared to be innocent. He said that he had missed the train and was required to reach Chirir Bandar under Dinajpur by bus. The bus fare was Tk 40.00. I decided in my mind to give him Tk 20.00, but just wanted to know how much money he had with him. He replied "Tk.20.00 only". When I opened my purse, I realized that I did not have small notes. As I informed him that I did not have either Tk 10 or Tk 20 notes, the man said he had the change. I gave him a Tk100 note and I clearly saw that the man taking out seven notes of Tk 10 denomination each and handing those over to me. He probably thought that I did not notice it, but I did and only allowed him to get away with it. That was how he cheated me and probably many others before and after me in the name of help.
