THE Bangladesh Premier League is a month-long cricket extravaganza and the cricket enthusiasts throng around TV sets or swarm in the stadium to watch their stars in action. The tournament has reached a stage where only a few days are left before we know who the champions are. The Dhaka Dynamites is the first team to qualify for the qualifier. The final will be held on December 9. We are keeping our fingers crossed and praying for the teams we support. We see crowds growing in number and cheering in tandem in favour of their respective outfits.
But in the mean time something has happened to BPL that one cannot afford to forget. It is about the debutante Afif Hossain of Rajshahi Kings who stunned the spectators by bagging 5 wickets giving away only 21 runs. Â Now it will be interesting to see how his opponents play him in the coming matches. Afif has now become the talk of the town and everyone is asking who this wonder boy is? The BPL has become a big platform for Bangladeshi youths as they get a chance to showcase their talent. The BPL is not only providing entertainment for the people and making cricket more popular, it is also attracting a lot of youngsters to this sport.
